The Alberta Association for Animal Owner’s Rights promotes in Alberta:
Final decisions about animal health care to be entrusted and made by the animal’s owner;
A new level of animal welfare that includes physical, mental and spiritual wellness for all animals;
A variety of wellness options available to animals in Alberta
including certified veterinary care and certified non-veterinarian practitioners.
An “open door” policy between veterinarians, non-veterinarian animal welfare providers and animal owners;
The freedom of non-veterinarian animal welfare providers to
provide humane animal wellness services for pay without the threat of
legal recrimination;
The freedom of veterinarians to associate with non-veterinarian
animal welfare providers without the threat of legal recrimination;
Wellness and prevention techniques for animal owners and animal welfare providers through articles, seminars and links;
Work with non-veterinarian animal welfare providers to help ensure
credibility, ethics and promote accessibility to animal owners. Provide
information to all, in an effort to increase transparency in the
industry so that animal owners are able to make more informed decisions
in regards to their animal’s wellness.
